Ettington CFR Registered Charity Status

25 January 2011: Ettington CFR Scheme achieves Registered Charity Status

Ettington Community First Responder Scheme has been granted Registered Charity status by the Charity Commission. The Scheme is now a Registered Charity, Number 1140022.

Chair, Paul Mulligan, said: "I am very proud of our Scheme and this latest achievement. For me, it represents completion of our original aims and objectives. Being a Registered Charity with both the HMRC and the Charity Commission opens up many new avenues of fundraising for the future. Our benefactors will have total peace of mind and all future donations to the Scheme will now be eligible for Gift Aid. I would like to give my wholehearted thanks to those team members who have given up many hours of their free time to make this a reality. Our Secretary, Steve Boreham, our former Scheme Coordinator, Russ Inman, and our Treasurers past and present - Marie Lowe and Mandy Matthew - have done an incredible job".

Secretary, Steve Boreham, added: "I feel very proud that, from such small and low-key beginnings just 18 months ago, a charity entirely run by volunteers on top of their normal occupations and family commitments can have received the community support that it has, grown to the size that it has, and received the recognition of being wholly charitable in purpose that it has from both HMRC and now the Charity Commission".

Ettington CFR Scheme is also designated as a Charitable Company by HM Revenue & Customs. This means that donations to the Scheme are eligible for Gift Aid where they meet HMRC qualifying_criteria.
